Three checks

Use the result without losing context

  1. 01 · Market

    Choose the relevant centre

The same quantity can produce a different total in another market because its per-egg observation can differ.

  2. 02 · Date

    Check the applicable day

The date beneath the answer belongs to the selected row. An older valid observation is kept visible when that market has no newer one.

  3. 03 · Meaning

    Keep wholesale and retail separate

Multiplication gives a wholesale reference total. It does not predict what a particular shop, supplier or delivered order will charge.

What the calculator actually does

Each market row stores the rate in whole paise per egg. The calculator multiplies that integer by your quantity, then formats the result in rupees. Six eggs at ₹5.40 per egg are therefore ₹32.40; twelve are ₹64.80; and a 30-egg tray is ₹162.00. The same rule works for quantities that do not match a standard tray or peti.

The result is only as current as the date printed with the selected market. For movement, lows, highs and monthly averages, open that market from the daily rate board. For a broader comparison, use the state roll-ups, which show how many markets contribute to each average.

Calculator questions

Egg quantity FAQ

How does the egg price calculator work?
Choose a market and enter a whole number of eggs. The calculator multiplies that market’s displayed per-egg rate by the quantity. It uses integer paise, so the arithmetic does not introduce floating-point rounding into the wholesale total.
Can I calculate the price of 12 or 24 eggs?
Yes. The quick buttons include 12 and 24 eggs, along with 6, 30, 100 and 210. You can also enter any whole quantity from 1 to 100,000 eggs.
Does the result show the retail shop price?
No. It is an exact conversion of a dated wholesale reference rate. It does not add delivery, handling, grading, packaging, breakage or a seller’s margin, so a retail quote can differ.
Why can two markets show different totals?
Every total starts with the selected market’s own per-egg observation. Markets can have different prices and applicable dates, so check the market name and date shown beneath the result.
